Position Summary
We are seeking an ambitious and customer-focused Agri Sales Representative to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with existing customers while actively identifying new business opportunities across the agricultural sector. The role involves promoting a wide range of products including animal feed, fertiliser, seed, crop inputs, farm supplies and agricultural services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong agricultural background who enjoys working closely with farmers and helping them achieve the best possible outcomes for their businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing farming customers.
- Provide expert advice and support across a range of agricultural products and services.
- Conduct daily farm visits.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable solutions.
- Develop long-term partnerships with customers based on trust and service.
Sales & Business Development
- Achieve agreed sales and gross margin targets.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the region.
- Promote animal feed, fertiliser, seed, crop inputs and general farm supplies.
- Work closely with suppliers to maximise sales opportunities.
- Support seasonal campaigns and product launches.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity.
- Assist in expanding the customer base and increasing market share.
Agronomy & Technical Support
- Support customers with product information and technical advice.
- Work alongside agronomists and technical specialists where required.
- Keep up to date with developments in agriculture, crop production and livestock systems.
- Attend supplier training sessions and industry events.
Retail & Store Support
- Assist customers within the store when required.
- Support the retail team during busy periods.
- Help maintain strong product presentation and merchandising standards.
- Assist with stock management and promotional activities.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales reports.
- Prepare quotations and follow up on customer enquiries.
- Monitor customer accounts and assist with credit control procedures where required.
- Provide regular updates to management on sales activity and opportunities.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all company health and safety policies.
- Promote safe handling and use of agricultural products.
- Maintain compliance with feed, fertiliser and agricultural regulations.
Essential Requirements
Experience
- Agricultural background with a good understanding of farming practices.
- Proven sales experience or strong customer-facing experience.
- Ability to build relationships and develop business opportunities.
- Full driving licence.
- Strong commercial awareness.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Experience
- Experience in agricultural sales and keeping debtors accounts within guidelines.
- Knowledge of animal nutrition, fertiliser, seed or crop inputs.
- Agronomy qualification or agricultural education.
- Existing network within the farming community.
- Experience using CRM and sales reporting systems.
