The Irish Organic Association (IOA) is Irelands leading organic certification body dedicated to certifying organic produce and products throughout Ireland. The IOA has been at the forefront of the organic movement in Ireland since it was established in 1982. Trainee Farm Inspectors

The IOA is looking to recruit a full time trainee farm inspector.

This role is a full time inspectors position. IOA inspectors carry out on site audits/inspections of farm holdings. Inspections are carried out on site at various locations throughout Ireland, travel will be required as part of the position.

We are looking for inspectors that will be based in the Donegal/Northwest region and the South East region.

As part of the role the inspector is expected to assist the certification manager with the IOA inspection and certification programme within regulatory guidelines. The certification duties will mainly be carried out in the Athlone office and or from home, or a mix of both depending on location and includes communications with members, maintenance of database files, reviews, and follow up correspondence in relation to reports.

Qualification

A minimum of a level 8 ( Honours Degree) in Agriculture Science. Previous experience and knowledge of farming systems is essential and auditing experiance desirable.

Training

Comprehensive training will be provided on all matters pertaining to organic production and certification regulatory duties. Training will take place in various locations to cover the full range of tasks as outlined in the job description.

A full clean driving licence is essential.
