As a Senior Branch Assistant at JGrennan & Sons, you will be instrumental in driving our business forward. You will assist in leading and developing the retail team to achieve store KPIs and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and strong leadership skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the overall appearance and facilities of the shop and yard, ensuring a welcoming and organised environment for customers.
  • Support effective stock management, implementing efficient barcoding systems, and conducting regular inventory checks.
  • Collaborate on merchandising strategies to optimise sales, aligning with current promotions and sales plans.
  • Assist in setting and driving branch targets, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure business growth and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to your team, inspiring them to uphold company values and deliver exceptional service.
  • Work closely with the management team to enhance customer service activities, improve sales performance, and boost customer satisfaction.
  • Support the training and development of you and your team members, ensuring you are all equipped with up-to-date product knowledge and system training.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, fostering open dialogue and teamwork within the branch.
  • Assist in planning, organising, and delegating tasks to maximise productivity and achieve operational goals.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and foster a culture of positivity and collaboration within the branch.

Key requirements:

  • Background and knowledge in farming.
  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a supervisory or assistant management role.
  • Strong knowledge of agricultural & building hardware and retail practices.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of motivating and developing teams.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and priorities tasks effectively.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Punctuality and reliability in meeting work schedules.
  • Knowledge in herbst software desirable but not required.
