The opportunity: Machinery Journalist

Agriland is currently seeking a machinery journalist to join its expanding team. Reporting to the editor and working as part of a team in a fast-paced digital news environment, the successful applicant will be responsible for tracking trends; following up on leads; as well as forging relationships with farmers, contractors, dealers, manufacturers and the wider machinery trade.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

· Reporting on the latest developments in the agri machinery sector;

· Conduct interviews, write articles, capture content on machinery sector;

· Act as the key point of contact for all machinery PR and editorial queries;

· Proactively engage with client base;

· Networking and building successful long-term relationships with key industry stakeholders;

· Take part in and contribute positively to editorial and team meetings;

· Represent the company in a professional manner at events and exhibitions.

Requirements

· A good knowledge of – and passion for – agricultural machinery is essential;

· The role will require the successful candidate to respond to dynamic situations, cover live events in multimedia format;

· Ability to work off own initiative, pitching ideas and breaking news stories;

· Experience of podcasting, video content creation, or digital media publishing is desirable, but not essential;

· Own transport is essential and the role will require regular international travel.
