Our client Grove Turkeys Ltd based at Smithboro, Co Monaghan is Ireland’s largest turkey processor with market leading positions in major British and Irish multiples. They are currently recruiting an Agriculture & Sustainability Manager

The successful candidate will manage all aspects of Grove Turkeys agri business. This involves breeder rearing/laying, hatching and growing of turkeys to optimise performance and at the highest standards of welfare and sustainability.

He or she will manage all growers, farm supervisors and farm personnel to achieve the highest efficiency and compliance standards. This appointee will manage the sourcing and usage of all agri inputs to ensure cost competitiveness and best practice.

Some of the other responsibilities include liaison with key service providers, statutory and accredited bodies plus the implementation of Origin Green accreditation. Further information and a full job spec are available on request.

Key skills & qualifications include a third level qualification in food science or agri food disciplines. A minimum of three years’ experience in the food industry is essential

Strong communication, IT and people management skills are required. He or she will be ambitious, proactive with a commercial mind set and have the ability to meet strict timelines.

A knowledge of poultry production is desirable but not essential. The attractive remuneration package includes a competitive salary, performance related bonus, business expenses etc.
