Job Description


Now over 60 years in business, Athenry Mart, based in Athenry, Co. Galway is a farmer owned co-operative which holds livestock sales every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with additional special sales on other days when needed.

The successful candidate will provide support across multiple areas of the business and will require someone with a flexible and proactive approach,
a proven record of customer management and strong communication skills, to liaison with staff at all levels of the business. A passion for agriculture and attention to detail are a necessity to be successful in this role.
Main duties & responsibility:

  • Provide front desk customer support and query management
  • Preparation of sales invoices and cash collection
  • Assist in month-end processes to include Bank reconciliations, and preparation of VAT
  • Management of Debtors, Creditors and Nominal ledgers.
  • Management of Social Media Accounts and Website
  • Assist with general Office Administration


  • Agri background or qualification
  • Professional, flexible, customer focused and pro-active.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English is essential
  • Comfortable with systems and IT.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative 
  • Excellent attention to detail is a must.
